  • Help becoming employed before Unemployment Insurance or other benefits end

Career Navigation / Training Assistance

  • Guidance to identify training programs leading to demand occupations

  • Assistance developing a funding plan to pay for training

  • Ongoing support/coaching to successfully complete training

These services are available to you at no cost through the Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA).


You may be eligible if you are:

Dislocated Worker

Individuals who have been laid off and are in need of placement assistance or need to retrain for a new career.

To qualify, you must be:

  1. 18+ years old

  2. King County resident

  3. Registered with Selective Service (males: born after 1960 or entered the United States before 26th birthday)

  4. Laid off or lost employment through no fault of your own

  5. Receiving, eligible for, or exhausted Unemployment Insurance benefits

Attend a Free Virtual Layoff Assistance Presentation

Our no-cost 60 minute virtual presentation covers:

  • Unemployment benefits (how to apply, how to claim, responsibilities, severance, waiving the job search for training, etc.)

  • Job search and career planning assistance through WorkSource

  • Dislocated worker programs through WorkSource

  • Worker retraining programs through community and technical colleges

  • Information on retirement and healthcare coverage

  • Other community support to help through the transition
