WorkSource isn’t a single organization or entity, but rather a network of partners from government, education, and community-based organizations coming together as an integrated system.
WorkSource is part of the American “One-Stop” Job Center Network, built around the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and DOL Programs. WorkSource system partners are dedicated state and local organizations that provide services via tax-payer funded programs and other leveraged workforce resources for workers, job seekers, and employers. There are numerous direct Seattle-King County partners that serve our local integrated system.
Business is very important to the public workforce system as both a customer and leader. The Seattle-King County WorkSource Business Team is driven to support our business partners by:
Navigating through available public tools, resources, and programs
Understanding your local workforce needs, challenges, and trends
Aiding your goals to recruit, hire and promote a more diverse and inclusive workforce including EEOC best practices, Affirmative Action Plans and Federal Contractor Compliance (OFCCP and VEVRAA)
The overarching goal of WorkSource is to align education systems, government agencies, and community-based organizations with business and industry to develop a more effective public workforce system. We work to ensure a skilled and job-ready workforce is able to meet business needs, supporting the "Good Jobs" Initiative and improving career pathways for barriered populations.

Industry Convenings & Leadership Tables
Achieving racial equity requires industry to play a leading role, driving workforce development that breaks down systems barriers from education and training programs to hiring, retention, and career advancement. The Workforce Development Council of Seattle-King County acts as core partners in the current industry convenings in the region.
Healthcare Industry Leadership Table (HILT)
The Healthcare Industry Leadership Table (HILT) is a self-convened network of healthcare organizations in Seattle-King County who come together to share and take action on improving access to a skilled healthcare workforce. The goal of HILT is to be a forum for high-quality sharing of promising practices and joint action by healthcare/medical organizations to train, recruit, and advance quality healthcare professionals in our region.
Hiring Initiative to Reimagine Equity (HIRE)
The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) have joined together to reimagine hiring and recruitment practices in ways that advance equal employment opportunities and help provide access to good jobs for workers.
The Hiring Initiative to Reimagine Equity (HIRE) is a multi-year National collaborative effort that will engage a broad array of stakeholders to expand access to good jobs for workers from underrepresented communities and help address key hiring and recruiting challenges.
